Thank you Don DaGradi for giving us a film that we love so much, that is mary poppins. If it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t have known anything about this movie. I still get choked up at the end when the kids beg mary to stay.

This movie was made with love from some amazing craftsman working for the man himself, Walt Disney. Many films tried to copy its winning formula , but all fell short. Even the long-delayed sequel was an unqualified bomb. Mary Poppins with its 13 Academy Award nominations and five wins , simply stands the test of time as one of the greatest film musicals of all time.

On the DVD of this movie, there are 2 bonus cartoons which are silly symphonies. The silly symphonies are Elmer Elephant and The Flying Mouse.

I remembered that this movie is also in the program Once Upon a Studio. But the scene in which Mr. Stork is on the cloud and his delivery is sinking reminds me of the movie Mary Poppins.

I remembered seeing this movie on Disney plus and it's perfect for Halloween.

So surreal that the young animators starting out then- John Musker, Ron Clements, Glen Keane, Tim Burton, Brad Bird, John Lasseter, Henry Selick, Randy Cartwright, etc., are now considered the "new" old guard.

In a way it is sad that Estelle plays the type of 80 year old that she in real life did not get to be. By the time she actually became 80 in real life, the dementia took over. 😢😢😢

It makes me so angry that is phenomenal film never received the recognition it truly deserved!
